Traditional Chinese Medicine

The Traditional Chinese Medicine developed in about three thousand years. It was fundmentally shaped by Confucius, a wise man from the 6th century according to our time scale, and the daoism from the same time episode.
Basic concepts of TCM are Qi, the tracks / meridians on which the Qi flows, harmony, inner harmony as in inner equilibrium between Yin and Yang in the human body. Yin and Yang are polar forces, which are in need of each other and expand each other. Yin is cool, quiet, bewaring and is often associated with the female, the earth, the night and the moon. Yang is warm, bright, dynamic, in movement, mental, and is associated with the male, the sun and the sky.
Health in TCM means the free flow of the Qi and the equilibrium between Yin and Yang. If the energy flow is blocked, Yin and Yang are out of balance and the human being is sick. Acupuncture is when practiced right without pain or side effects. Clinical studies prove the extraodinary effectiveness of acupucture against pain, especially back ache, and in the prophlaxis of migrain. The WHO recognises acupuncture as an effective treatment method against a number of sicknesses.
